CompTIA Network+

CompTIA Network+ is a vendor-neutral, entry-to-intermediate level certification validating essential skills in configuring, managing, troubleshooting, and securing both wired and wireless networks. It covers foundational infrastructure, protocols, and modern technologies like cloud and virtualization, preparing professionals for roles such as network administrator, support technician, or IT consultant.

Prerequisite - These prerequisites are strongly recommended; however, they are not mandatory

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge 

  • At a minimum, 9 to 12 months of hands-on experience in networking is strongly recommended

What Will I Learn

  • Understanding network architecture, components, and design principles. This includes evaluating network topologies and protocols and planning their implementation in infrastructure.

    Gain the skills necessary to troubleshoot existing networks through patch management, system analysis, performance optimization techniques, software updates, hardware maintenance, and more.

  • Acquire an understanding of emerging technologies such as cloud computing systems and virtualisation platforms. This can include comparing different systems based on their features and capabilities, as well as their security implications.

  • Develop best practices in network management that include monitoring tools, configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible, and resource allocation strategies such as load balancing and clustering. Additionally, students will learn the importance of documenting all aspects of their networks and industry standards for disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
